I just received a lovely email & pictures from Simone Palfreyman, who writes:
"we recently purchased Navaho Twilight Time and have some lovely photos from his first shows with us. “Will” is a share horse – I ride him and my 10 year old daughter does all the led classes. We have been having an absolute ball with Will and just love him.
I have attached a photo of myself (Simone Palfreyman) riding at the Hunter Regional Show (25/1/09) and my daughter Olivia Palfreyman handling him at the Hunter Valley Twilight Show (24/1/09).
Navaho Twilight Time is owned jointly by Simone & Olivia Palfreyman."
Thanks Simone!

*** Wishaw Glen Jackpot *** - by Rachelle Corfield
Jackie, as he is affectionately know is approx 15 years old and came to us from the RSPCA in February 2010, he is approx 11hh. Jackie had been taken in by the RSPCA after the people that owned him moved house and left him behind. I was browsing the RSPCA web site, as I do regularly, when I stumbled across his profile. I breed miniature pinto ponies of which I have 16 at the moment and 9 foals in the way this year, but even though he was a little bigger than mine the pretty Silver Dapple Taffy and white tobiano appearance caught my eye. I rang the RSPCA to find out more about him, in which I discovered he was still a stallion, and then called my husband Geoff to see if he was happy to take this beautiful boy on board. Usually he is not very pleased when I come to him with the bright idea of obtaining yet another pony, but when I told him Jackie's story and he saw his picture even he couldn't resist. After going through the property inspection process, we were approved to adopt Jackie, and I was over the moon! In the last 18 months we have bought a 25 acre farm in Robertson in the Southern Highlands of NSW that is covered in such rich and overwhelming pasture and even my mob of minis have no hope of keeping it down, and so it gave me the idea of adopting a rescue pony or two just to help them out and give them a nice peaceful life where they would be loved and well cared for.
I drove in to Yagoona and Picked Jackie up on a Saturday morning; he walked on to the float quiet easily and started munching away in his hay bag. When I got him home he got the full treatment, wormed, washed, tidy up hair cut, brushed, new rugs and put into the isolation paddock for the first week. During that first week we had our local vet come and give him a once over and also chat to him about Jackie’s health and the possibility of gelding him. After his check-up the vet said he was in great health and had a very strong and healthy heart, and advised us that gelding him would be the best option as it would give him a happier life being able to run with all the other ponies rather than being locked a stallion paddock on his own. So we went ahead, the operation went well, and we even discovered that it had been the best thing for him as one of the testicles the vet took out had an abnormal growth on it which could have turned cancerous later. Jackie recovered well and was back to his normal self about 1 week later. After he recovered we started some training with him to see if he was broken in and he was, we also discovered that he was blind in his off side eye which explained why he would continually bend his neck right around when I was working on that side of him, however it makes no difference to his happiness. My friend’s children have a wonderful time when they come down to our farm as Jackie gives such great pony rides! Jackie now has the run of the paddocks and enjoys the company of all my other little ponies. Even after being gelded at an older age he has a great attitude and is not bossy or stallion like, he just fits in with the others and enjoys his friends. Jackie will have a very happy life living out his days giving pony rides to small children, and eating till his heart's content with his mates! We love Jackie very much and are so thankful that he is part of our lives!
